Simulation games get the most plays on Roblox. Dubit's Roblox games tracker puts 36.7% of all the Roblox plays it counted from 24 August to 20 September 2026 in Simulation. Survival is next, at 14.6%, less than half of Simulation's share. Part of each genre's count is modelled, so both shares are partly estimates. Every game is counted under the genre it has today.
What a share of plays counts. It is a genre's portion of every Roblox play our tracker counted in those weeks, across all genres. Games with no genre are kept in as Unknown rather than dropped. The smaller genres are in the total too, so the shares of the largest genres do not add up to all plays. The unit is the play. A single player can account for many plays, so a genre's share of plays is not its share of players, visits or time spent.
Below Survival, the next genres sit close together. Obby & Platformer took 8.5% of plays in the same weeks, Roleplay & Avatar Sim 8.4% and Action 8.2%. Like the leaders, each of these shares is partly modelled.
Shooter took 4.7% of plays, RPG 3.8% and Party & Casual 3.7%. More of Party & Casual's count is modelled than any other genre's here. Adventure took 2.6% and Sports & Racing 2.3%, also partly estimates.
Genre is a present-day label applied to the whole period. When a game is reclassified, all of its past plays move with it to the new genre. We have not measured how much that shifts the shares. Each share is an aggregate across the games we track, not the plays of any single game.
